This server is located on the same network in which your server would be on and you can expect similar performance in regards to network quality.
Note: Please do not traceroute/MTR to www.powervps.com. It is on a seperate physical network than where your VPS will be located. This is so that you can still reach us in the unlikely case of a network-wide issue.

We are partners with unarguably the finest Tier-1 carrier neutral datacenter in the world, Equinix IBX. We have a direct relationship with Equinix, and do not resell or colocate our equipment with other hosting companies.
Why risk your data and livelihood to other providers that buy from 2 or 3 other resellers, and do not have a direct relationship with their providers. We are one of the only companies inside Equinix to have our own NOC Engineers on-site at the datacenter to work on OUR equipment when issues arise. No middle man and no finger pointing and passing the blame. When there are issues, our own folks are on-site and working on the issues - instead of waiting in a ticket queue for a datacenter tech to get to your problem, when they have time. We own the problem, from the time it starts, until it is resolved - no passing the blame or finger pointing here.
We also own and deploy all of our network equipment, servers, etc. Again, why risk your data to folks that rent 2nd and 3rd generation servers from other providers, that have no access or ability to troubleshoot your problems.

Q. Do you help me secure my VPS?
A. Absolutely! We take several steps to ensure you have a secure VPS such as installing a firewall, securing the /tmp folder, and disabling unsafe binaries. You can read more about our default security settings on our forums at:

Q. Do you provide technical support?
A. We provide semi-managed support. This means we provide support for the OS, the control panel, and system services installed by the control panel such as Apache, PHP, mySQL, DNS, mail, etc. We do not support 3rd party scripts/services/applications. If you have a VPS without a control panel (such as a Windows server without Plesk, or a Linux Webmin package), you are responsible for managing your system services.
Q. I have an existing server with you. Can I have this discount applied to it?
A. Sorry, this is not possible. This offer is valid for new purchases only. If you wish to add an additional VPS, the discount will apply to the new server. However we cannot apply it to existing servers.
Q. Can I host adult content?
A. Sure! As long as it does not violate state/federal law (no kiddie porn, etc), and you're authorized to distribute the content, you can host the content.
Q. Can I host a proxy on my server?
A. While we discourage the use of proxies, we have not completely banned them. Please remember... you are responsible for the activity on your VPS. If someone uses your proxy to perform illegal activities, you are responsible for it as it is your server. Violation of our AUP/TOS can result in account termination.
Q. Do your cPanel packages include WHM?
A. Yes! WHM is a standard component of the cPanel package. Since you have full root level access to your VPS, you have access to WHM and all root level features.

Any good offer has a few restrictions on it.
