What inbound/outbound trunk providers can I use?
You can use any provider that supports the SIP or IAX2 protocol. You can also configure multiple providers on your system and route your calls via the least expensive.
Can I get a regular telephone number?
Yes, you can purchase a regular telephone number from any provider that supports SIP/IAX2. This number could be a local telephone number anywhere in the world.
How do I configure Asterisk?
All of the popular distributions (Elastix, PBX-in-a-flash ...) come with a web GUI enabling you to configure your system in a web browser.

Which distribution should I choose?
Current distributions available are Elastix, PBX-in-a-flash and FreePBX/A2Billing. All templates include the same basic functionality (Asterisk/FreePBX) but each distribution has extra features.
