We would like to remind the WHT community about our new VPS cloud service. We have made some improvements since the last time we posted about this.
Now with Live Cloning
We are very excited about this new feature. We have added a great new feature called "live cloning" which will allow you to clone any VPS or physical server from any provider in the world into your VPS from us. All you have to do is install a temporarily generated SSH key and our systems will take care of the rest! We will even reconfigure your instance automatically for you so that it is accessible on our network when you start it!
Locations
We are still building out our service for this as well as CDN. We are partnering with datacenters which are demonstrating energy conservation.
Our first location, is the new OVH datacenter in Montreal (Beauharnois). We are in talks with other datacenters and will shortly be launching additional regions.
Our second location, in Newcastle upon Tyne, England will be available on February 8th.
SLA
We are at present offering 100% uptime SLA for
power and network. In the
event of an outage, we will compensate you with service credit at a per-second rate starting from when the outage was first measured.
We are only offering a 99.95% uptime SLA for the disk subsystems of the cluster service. This is because the storage technology is still beta, and we are allowing the possibility for performance degrading bugs still. Help us test!
Plans
The plans that are presently available are:
- 512MB / 50GB Disk / 20MBPS BANDWIDTH / 1 Free IPv4 = $7.50/month
- 1024MB / 100GB Disk / 20MBPS BANDWIDTH / 2 Free IPv4 = $15.00/month
- 1536MB / 150GB Disk / 20MBPS BANDWIDTH / 3 Free IPv4 = $22.50/month
- 2048MB / 200GB Disk / 20MBPS BANDWIDTH / 4 Free IPv4 = $30.00/month

All servers come with 1 IPv4 address by default, but more may be requested free of charge as mentioned above, with proper justification and at our discretion.
Available Distributions
We take a different approach to building VPS instances. All instances are built from scratch using the latest packages available from the Linux distributions. We are presently working on adding support for more distributions, so if the distribution you want to use is unavailable, drop us a line and we'll find a solution for getting it up and running for you!

We are also working on
HVM support so if you want to participate in the HVM beta, let us know and we will get your VPS switched into HVM mode.
Sign up
You can create VPS (as many as you want!) by first signing up here: https://manage.tortois.es/create
Then you can manage your VPSes from the VPS manager at: https://manage.tortois.es/
To create a VPS instance, simply:
(1) Click on "My Servers"
(2) Click on "Add Server"
(3) Select a plan and region
(4) Pay the resulting invoice
Once the invoice is paid, the VPS will be instantly activated and available for use. For the period of the beta, we are only accepting PayPal payments, credit card payments will come later once we finish integrating anti-fraud systems into the customer-facing systems.
Once the instance is created, you simply install whatever distribution image you want using the 'Deploy' tab!
